Push clamps make use of a solid plunger to apply clamping force in a straight line Back toward from the clamp base.  Pull style clamps differ from Push and Push/Pull styles in that they are designed to lock in the retracted position only. Most Pull style clamps have an internally threaded plunger and can be fitted with a threaded spindle for adjustment.
